Bean Pot is a nice little campground. It is an older campground in the more traditional way: with campfires going all the time (not a bad thing) and people having a good time. Sites seem level and the staff was very friendly. Roads were gravel but in good condition. We only overnighted here and did not get the chance to use the amenities. It works well as an overnight place as it is not too far off I-40. We would stay again.
We loved this campground. This is our second year here for our anniversary. We love it, as it is quiet and great for relaxing. That said, there are not many activities, but it is quite close to Asheville for things you may want to do. And although all the roads are pretty steep, it is one of the easiest mountain campgrounds to get to. We already made reservation for next year. Reservations are recommended, especially during the fall.
Very nice campground, first time we visited. Would have given it a 10 except the roads in the campground need a little work. The campground is very wooded and the trees are causing the road to buckle in several places. Roads are definitely doable, but do watch and go slow in areas. For the casual bike rider, leave the bicycles at home, the roads are hilly. Campground offered scheduled activities for the kids, but the Stone Mountain Park had so much to do that we didn't have a free minute to get to it all. We recommend this campground and visiting the Stone Mountain Park. We'll be visiting again.
We have been to the other Myrtle Beach campgrounds, and found this one to be friendly and accomodating. We had some cable problems, but they were quick to resolve the issue. We stayed in the inland section for shade, sites were level. Park was quiet in spite of it being Biker Week. This is the only park out of the big three Myrtle Beach campgrounds that do not allow motorcycles to go beyond the front gate. We would visit again.
This was a great stopping point for traveling! Right off the Interstate and well priced. Its is probably one of the best combinations of price and a nice campground. There is not much to do, but everything was new and clean and the WiFi worked well, although there was no cable TV. Our site was level and we would use it again if coming through the area.
Jellystone is a "classic" campground. It appears to be around 20 years old with many sites of all different sizes and configurations. Most are for TTs and Popups. I think the biggest rig they can handle is about 40ft - and not too many of them. Overall it is a nice CG with its best feature a river that hugs the edge of it. It nice for wading and many people use it for gentle tubing. The pool looked clean although we did not use it. We also did not check out the the showers/baths. The roads are gravel/dirt and a bit narrow in spots. Also the office is not near the entrance so you need to drive into the CG a bit. Most folks looked lost when they first came in looking for it. We give it an 8 since we did have some issues, although most of the staff were very nice and apologetic. The cable never really worked. It worked a little the first day and then went out completely. The other issue we had was with power. On the second day our Surge Guard kicked off a few times. We called the CG staff to make sure it was not our device, but found one leg was only putting out 98v. We moved to the 30amp connection and had a few problems with that too. We believe it had to do with load since the CG was packed. Once everyone left, we never had another problem. Despite the issue, we would probably come back since it is a pretty location and we want to try to get one of the limited large sites along the river. The sites were level - ours was nearly perfect. Cell phones do not work here.
The campground was nice and well kept. Our site was a pull through that was very long (100ft) and level. The only issue was that we went to Charleston in June and it was very hot with lots of mosquitoes. It was nearby the Splash park which was convenient.
This is a relatively new campground that is geared for dogs, which is a neat idea. We brought our 2 dogs (Cockerpoo and Yorkie) and they had a great time. Although it is great for dogs, kids may be bored. Ours were not, because they like playing with the dogs in the dog runs. Our site was a bit unlevel, but I was able to level our Motorhome without lifting any of the wheels off. Roads to the campground were not too bad and it was pretty easy to get to. The owners were very friendly and helpful with dog advice and training.
